Terra-Cotta have been in touch with Cinehouse to inform us Yoon Hong-Seung's K-Horror classic DEATH BELL (Gosa) is finally coming to UK & Ireland on DVD & Blu Ray plus a limited Theatrical release.
This is the debut film of top music video director Yoon Hong-Seung (aka Chang) who is considered the Michel Gondry or Spike Jonze of South Korea and is still making music videos and commercials.Unlike existing horror movies that restricts its motive in showing ‘cruel’ scenes, DEATH BELL shows vivid brutality with sophisticated and stylish visuals; combining visuals and fierce soundtrack that permeates tension.
DEATH BELL seeks to combine the most dramatic aspects of horror and thriller movies. If horrifying feature added on top of scary stories were the films that stimula.
A group of students at an elite high school, preparing for mid-term exams (gosa) are held captive and forced into a series of sadistic games. The students find themselves plunged into a deadly test where they are picked off one by one and held in impenetrable traps where they must rely on the amazing intellects of their classmates to be released, every time a question is answered incorrectly, a classmate meets their torturous, grizzly death.
When it emerges that the students are being picked off according to a pattern, pupil Kang Yi-na discovers how much time she has to stay alive, and solve the puzzles to unmask their vicious killer, before the Death Bell rings for her.
Starring controversial, K-Pop sensation Nam Gyu-ri as Kang Yi-na and Korean drama star Kim Beom as Kang Hyeon Other cast: Lee Beom-soo as teacher Chang-wook, Yoon Jeong-hee as teacher So-young.
